Julien Le Roux
Commander Julien Le Roux is a French Navy engineering officer and currently serves as Director of Undersea Warfare for the Mediterranean Sea. A graduate of the French Naval Academy, his career reflects a continuous evolution across the nuclear submarine force—advancing from onboard engineering, sonar integration, and nuclear propulsion safety roles to Executive Officer, as well as Deputy Director at the Nuclear Submarine School in Toulon. His background encompasses nuclear-powered submarine operational deployments, command of a Pacific patrol vessel, and directing high-fidelity simulator programs. Today, Commander Le Roux leads seabed warfare initiatives, the integration of autonomous undersea systems (UUVs, gliders), and defence interoperability with international allied forces.
